Accor has opened a new 184-room Mecure hotel at Heathrow International Airport.

Running under a franchise agreement with Crimson Hotels Ltd, the multi-million pound development is located less than two miles from the airport.

The site is designed to cater for both business and leisure travellers and includes Borders Restaurant and Bar, Costa coffee, dry gym, extensive meeting facilities and a Hoppa shuttle service that runs guests to the airport from 4am – 11pm.

“We are delighted at being able to welcome Mercure London Heathrow Hotel to the network of Mercure Hotels in the UK.  The hotel’s new look reflects our commitment to providing excellent facilities in each hotel across the country,” said Jonathan Sheard, SVP operations luxury, upscale and midscale hotels, Accor UK & Ireland.

Accor saw net profits rise 77 per cent in 2014, and the company is continuing to expand its portfolio with seven new ibis hotels planned for 2016.
