US giant Fatburger and its sister restaurant Buffalo’s Cafe have opened their first European site in London’s Camden this week (24 May).

The chain, which promises ‘size does matter’, is capitalising on the ongoing gourmet burger boom by offering all-American sizes ranging from Single to Triple stacked.

Buffalo’s Café, which was acquired by Fatburger’s parent company Fog Cutter Capital Group Inc. in 2011, operates its ‘Express’ brand on-site, serving chicken wings in 13 different sauces ranging from mild to Red Hot Ranch.

A representative for Fatburger told BigHospitality that there were 20 UK stores in the pipeline, slated to open over the next 5-7 years

Fatburger and Buffalo’s Café CEO Andy Wiederhorn said: “As global demand for our product grows, the next logical step is bringing our first Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express to Europe.

"London is a bustling, dynamic city and our new restaurant will offer tourists and locals alike a chance to sit, relax and enjoy our delicious American cuisine.”

Fatburger is the latest American chain to launch in the UK, following Five Guys, Smashburger, Potbelly Sandwich Shop, Shake Shack and Smith & Wollensky.

The new restaurant is located at Unit 3, 10 Jamestown Road, Camden Town, NEW1 7BY.
