Staying up North, Leeds comes in in second place with a two-year increase of 71k visitors.
The opening in 2013 of shopping centre Trinity Leeds, with its pioneering food hall and inclusion of D&D London's first UK restaurant outside of London helps mark the city out as a top foodie destination. It was also reported that sales of wine in Leeds were higher than in the capital.
It was a popular destination for Spanish people with 52k visiting in 2014.
