The club is the London-based restaurant and nightlife collective’s ninth venue and it will feature dancefloor, a bar, a sound system, and one DJ per night.
During the day Phonox will operate as a bar before transitioning into a nightclub as the night goes on.
Each Friday will see different guest DJs performing all-night sets at the club, while a resident DJ will be behind the decks every Saturday.
Columbo Group founder Steve Ball, who was named in the London Evening Standards ‘1000 Influential Londoners’ list, says that the new venue will give people the chance to celebrate London’s nightlife:
“In an almost suffocating time for UK clubbers who have become accustomed to the all-too-common story of club closures, Phonox stands as a fresh opportunity to champion what the public love about London nightlife,” he said.
Phonox will be joining Brixton’s vibrant music scene with the world-famous Brixton Academy nearby, as well as a number of other alternative nightclubs.
The site was previously occupied by the popular Plan B nightclub.
Phonox is the group’s latest nightclub opening with XOYO and The Nest both featuring in their London line-up.
