Vico will serve affordable Italian street food in a casual setting, with cutlery ‘strongly frowned upon’.
Instead of cooking a set menu chefs will create dishes based on daily delivered produce, while drinks will be limited to house wine.
Options may include pizza by the slice and fried titbits of Mediterranean seafood - cooked in small quantities and served straight from the kitchen.
A large Gelupo counter, mirroring Kenedy's Archer Street site, will open on 3 August ahead of the restaurant launch and serve iced and fried desserts alongside specialty coffees.
“Vico is not a destination, it is a place en route,” said Kenedy.
“Somewhere to meet old friends and make new ones. To share a bite and a spritz or a carafe of wine, and then to share another. It is a pleasant moment to pause along the hectic road we tread every day, to relax and to smile.”
While details of the restaurant’s interior remain secret, diners are promised that it will be ‘suprising’.
Vico will open at One Cambridge Circus, London, in late August.
