Asian hotel operator Compass Hospitality has completed the purchase of The Big Sleep Hotel’s UK portfolio.

The multi-million-pound purchase consists of three hotels in Cardiff, Cheltenham and Eastbourne, with funding provided by RBS.

The hotels are well located with the 60-room Cheltenham hotel situated in a shopping location, the 81-room Cardiff hotel is directly opposite the Motorpoint Arena and the 50-room Eastbourne hotel is a 10-minute walk from Eastbourne Pier.

Harmil Singh, president and chief executive of Compass Hospitality, said: "We are very pleased with this portfolio acquisition of these three well located and profitable hotels. We will continue to seek out acquisitions and opportunities to grow our presence in the UK."

Matthew Welbourn, executive vice president of UK operations at Compass Hospitality, said: “Our existing two hotels in Shrewsbury and Halifax have achieved significant performance improvements due to the well established distribution network at Compass Hospitality.  We are confident that similar improvements will be achieved for these additional three hotels and are grateful for the support provided by the RBS team.”

Compass Hospitality now own 49 hotels across Thailand, Malaysia and the UK, including recent additions to their portfolio The Lion Hotel in Shrewsbury and The White Swan in Halifax.
