Chicken restaurant Chooks has announced that it is to open in Ealing in October, marking the brand’s second London venture after the opening of its Muswell Hill branch in 2012.

Named after the Australian slang for chicken, Chooks is a 60-cover restaurant offering diners marinated and grilled chicken dishes and it will also operate as a takeaway.

Chooks was founded by Gideon Joffe and the deal for the 1,900sq.ft restaurant was advised by London-based Restaurant Property.

The menu will included Joffe’s family’s secret Buttermilk Fried Chicken and will serve birds fried or grilled by the quarter, or half or whole. Burgers, salads and sides, desserts, cocktails craft beers and wine make up the menu.

Joffe, who also owns restaurant concepts MonkeyNuts and Chez Bob, has plans to launch a number of Chooks restaurants in the UK.

Joffe said: "I am very excited to be expanding Chooks and am looking forward to the next exciting phase of the journey."
