Danny Hoang is a sous chef at Colettes restaurant in The Grove hotel, Watford. He graduated from the Professional Chefs Diploma at Westminster Kingsway College, and has previously worked at L’Autre Pied, Viajante and undertaken a stage at Noma.
Cooking is in the family and he grew up helping his parents in a Chinese takeaway in south east London. Since Hoang was young his parents’ ethos of applying yourself has led him to some incredible opportunities. He entered Young National Chef of the Year because he wants to win. Hoang believes it to be a true test of one's cooking ability that rewards the winner with the greatest achievement that a young chef could ever dream of.
