Bar & restaurant group Darwin & Wallace is continuing its expansion in the capital with the acquisition of its fourth venue - an old fire station in Chiswick.

Set to launch in spring 2016, the all-day dining venue will open at the former All Bar One site and feature a large outdoor courtyard area.

The announcement comes ahead of the launch of the group’s third property - No.1 Duke Street - in Richmond in November.

Mel Marriot, managing director of Darwin & Wallace, said: “Each of our bar/restaurants is a unique representation of the community it serves, with interesting and contemporary interiors.  By working with a group of exciting young designers who are ahead of the curve we are eschewing standard, cookie cutter decor and creating stand out sites.”

Launched in 2012, Darwin & Wallace is developing restaurants predominantly in affluent London ‘villages’ including Chelsea, Kensington, Soho and Fitzrovia.

Marriott told BigHospitality in 2012 that the group was looking to expand to up to nine sites by 2017.

Darwin & Wallace is backed by The Imbiba Partnership whose other investments include London-based bar group Drake & Morgan.
