Wing Zone, the US-founded chicken wing concept, will open its first UK restaurant in London's Finsbury Park next month.

The 32-cover site, which will operate under a franchise agreement, will serve the brand's famous chicken wings which are infused with a choice of nine different flavours alongside burgers, fries and sides.

The licensed restaurant will serve a proportion of diners in-house with two thirds of trade expected to be made up of takeaways and deliveries.

Wing Zone, founded by Matt Friedman and Adam Scott in 1991, started out as a business delivering buffalo wings to students at the campus of the University of Florida.

The concept is centred around chicken wings infused with a choice of nine unique flavours, each with a special name. Flavours include Nuclear Habanero, Honey Q and Mango Fire.

A number of Wing Zone restaurants now operate across the US with more opening under franchise in other markets such as Singapore, Panama and Russia.

Wing Zone UK director Rishi Mistry said: "We are really excited to be opening the first Wing Zone restaurant in the UK. Wings are very popular in the US and we know Londoners will love them too.”
