American cheesesteak restaurant opens permanent London site

Liberty Cheesesteak is the brainchild of Philadelphia-raised JP Teti, and focuses solely on the city’s classic sandwich.
The restaurant takes a selection of beef rib eye, sautéed onions and a trio of cheeses – including the brand’s ‘LibertyWiz’ sauce – and heaps it inside an Italian roll.
Teti – who graduated with an MBA from the London Business School – began selling cheesesteaks from pop-ups across the capital.
The stall experienced such high demand that the brand has now launched a permanent site at Spitalfields market.
Teti said his standard of sandwiches ‘can’t be found anywhere else outside of Philadelphia’.
“We pride ourselves on being the first and only producer of authentic Philly cheesesteaks in London and focus our efforts on bringing real culture transference which we pour into our finished product,” said Teti.
“From the process of sourcing the finest produce, to the ordering experience, our aim is to bring real urban American cuisine to the streets of London.”
Liberty Cheesesteak joins an ever-expanding range of specialist American restaurants in London, including Red Dog Saloon, The Mac Factory, and Melt Room.
