Mark Batchford has joined the St. James Hotel team as head chef, bringing with him a new menu for the hotel and bar.
His former roles include head chef at Perkins Restaurant in Plumtree, and a position at George’s Fish and Chip Kitchen.
He said: “I’m really excited to get stuck in, using all the knowledge and experience I’ve gathered over the years.
“The new menu is really focused on what the customers want. From light bites to gourmet fish and chips, there is something for everyone. Once the menu is established we hope to work more closely with the bar to produce special menus for special events and themed nights.”
Richard Johal, general manager of the St James Hotel, said: “It’s great to have Mark on board. He has a vast amount of experience and is extremely passionate about his work.
“Mark has so much enthusiasm and so many exciting ideas for the future of our menu and he has an incredible amount of knowledge. I’m really looking forward to seeing what he does in the coming months – and of course sampling some of his tasty dishes.”
