The Splendid Hospitality Group has acquired its first property in the South West - the Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel.

The 116-room site will continue operating under the Mecure brand as part of a franchise deal with Accor.

Stuart Bailey, CEO of Splendid Hospitality, said: “We are excited to make our mark in Bristol with the purchase of the Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel, especially given its unbeatable historic waterfront location.

“This is our first property with Accor and we look forward to a strong and successful partnership with them.”

Located in the heart of Bristol’s Old City, the waterside hotel includes the Ellipse restaurant which serves ‘regional gourmet cuisine’.

Splendid Hospitality Group is the operator and developer of 19 UK hotels with nearly 2000 bedrooms.

Its portfolio includes the five-star Conrad London St James and Grand Hotel and Spa in York - which is undergoing a £15m redevelopment.

Recent additions include the New Ellington Hotel Leeds and the 292-room Hilton London Bankside.

The group’s future developments include hotels at London Hounslow, London Park Royal and London Worcester Park.
