BBC show MasterChef: The Professionals is back for 2016, with a call for entries to all professional chefs.

Chefs wishing to enter the programme – which features Michelin-starred chef Marcus Wareing, former senior sous chef at Le Gavroche, Monica Galetti, and MasterChef regular Gregg Wallace as judges ‒ must do so via an online application form. To be eligible, they must be aged 20 or above on May 1 2016, with the right to work and live in the UK, and at least two years’ chef experience in a professional kitchen and/or minimum chef qualifications.

Applicants must also disclose any experience working in a Michelin-starred restaurant, let the programme organisers know if they have ever taken part in a cookery competition before, and be available for all the filming days over the course of the show.

Last year’s winner – revealed in the final television programme on Christmas Eve 2015 ‒ was Mark Stinchcombe, joint head chef with his wife Sue, at Eckington Manor in Pershore, in the Cotswolds.
