A Thai bar and restaurant in London’s Spitalfields, Som Saa is the much-anticipated permanent venue of the former pop-up operation from chefs Andy Oliver and Mark Dobbie, and now-general manager Tom George. Oliver, who reached the finals on MasterChef in 2009, spent six months working at the prestigious Bo.Lan restaurant in Bangkok before honing his Thai cookery skills in London. Prior to launch, the group managed to raise £700,000 through crowdfunding. Dishes will focus on grills, stir fries and curries, plus larger sharing plates, and coconut milk desserts.
