Its first location, the Berber & Q Grill House, opened in 2015 in Haggerston.
Expected to open in June, the 40-cover, 1,500 sq ft site from co-founders head chef Josh Katz and front of house manager Mattia Bianchi, will specialise in shawarma – Middle Eastern-style slow-cooked meat on a rotating grill spit ‒ along with Middle-Eastern inspired cocktails, wine, and beer.
Its location puts it close to other popular restaurant groups, including street-food inspired Pizza Pilgrims, Italian restaurant Macellaio RC, and Mexican-style site Cielo Blanco.
Katz previously worked at Yotam Ottolenghi’s eponymous group, as well as Galvin Bistrot de Luxe, and Made in Camden at the Roundhouse.
He said: “Our second central London location was very important for us [and] we look forward to opening at Exmouth Market.”
The site deal was secured for Berber & Q by leisure property specialists Shelley Sandzer.
