Springboard Awards of Excellence 2016 open for hospitality entries

Industry charity Springboard is calling for entries to its 2016 Awards for Excellence, which celebrate the achievements of organisations and individuals across the sector.

The awards, which are in their 14th​ year, comprise 17 categories across three sections: Promoting Careers, Atrracting and Developing People, and Best Employment Practice.

The closing date for entries is Friday 9 September 2016, and the winners will then be announced at an awards evening on 24 November, at the Novotel London West. Entries are being accepted here [https://springboard.uk.net/events/fundraising/awards-for-excellence-2016].

Individual awards include Best Work Experience Provider, Best Chef Development Strategy, Best Food and Beverage Strategy, Best Career Progression, Best Community Engagement, Best Employer, and Best Use of Digital Media.

Last year’s awarded prizes to companies such as the AccorHotels group, the Lancaster London hotel, Holiday Inn – Norwich, and drinks giant Diageo.

Sally Beck, general manager of the Lancaster London, said: “Winning the Springboard Award for Excellence for Best Housekeeping Development Strategy 2015 meant a huge amount to our team. The Awards are an excellent way of showcasing the best of our industry and sharing best practise amongst our peers.”

The Springboard charity seeks to help young people, the unemployed, and those facing barrier to work into sustainable employment within the hospitality, leisure, and tourism industries. It offers careers information, training, work experience opportunities, mentoring programmes, and teaching resources.
