Supermarket chain Tesco is set to open a wine bar in Soho this August.

The Wardour Street venue will aim to promote the quality of Tesco’s 70-plus Finest wine range as well as serving a series of ‘wine flights’.

Experts and Tesco’s own master of wine James Davis will be on hand to answer questions and offer customers advice.

The pop-up will be free to enter and will not take bookings throughout its eleven day run.

Elisabetta Farroni, senior brand manager at Tesco, said: "Showcasing the range through a pop-up wine bar is the perfect way to demonstrate the high quality of our wines directly to the public."

Tesco looked to be scaling back its hospitality operations earlier this year after it sold off the giraffe restaurant group and coffee chain Harris & Hoole in June.

The pop-up will run at 147 Wardour Street from 2-13 August.
