The 30-cover café, overseen by Field & Fawcett co-owner Cathryn Fawcett, will open in one of the farm buildings alongside the wine merchant tomorrow (10 August).
It will open from 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays, serving breakfast, lunch and tea and cakes. The venue will also be used to host evening wine tastings.
Fawcett, who has run Field & Fawcett with husband Peter for the last 10 years, said she hoped to cater for business travellers, commuters to York and tourists using the A64 alongside local trade.
“We’ve really enjoyed the process of devising menus that reflect our passion for quality and seasonality," she said. "As a family business we have worked hard to ensure that The Café is a light, bright destination serving the best from breakfast time through to tea time, served by an experienced team."
"We’ve worked alongside our new chef Lee Milnes to create a menu that includes ingredients from the best suppliers, celebrating food that is home cooked and simple, whether it’s a full English breakfast or a slice of one of our stupendous homemade cakes."
