From executive pastry chef Zoe Wager, this Candy Shop Afternoon Tea from the Conrad London St James hotel is super sweet. Inspired by childhood nostalgia, it includes a selection of pastel pastries, a strawberry and cream pannacotta, a bubblegum macaron, finger sandwiches with salmon and dill (and much more), all presented with a box of hundreds and thousands, to really make you feel like a child in a sweet shop. It starts at £39 without Champagne, £47.50 with one glass, or £54 for unlimited bubbles.
Wager commented: " Afternoon tea is such a quintessentially British tradition, and I think it's a must for a luxury London hotel to have an impressive service. We get to have so much fun creating our concepts, and want our guests to challenge their perceptions, and then be pleasantly surprised when they recognise tastes and flavours. We try to rework classic flavour combinations and give them a twist, and use modern techniques to garnish and excite. With our new Conrad Candy Shop, we really wanted guests to feel a sense of nostalgia, as it incorporates everyone’s favourite childhood sweets."
