Ed’s Easy Diner has announced plans to open ten new restaurants in travel hubs across the UK by 2020.

The group has signed a deal with travel food specialists SSP to launch in stations, airports and visitor attractions.

The first of the sites will open at London’s Liverpool Street Station later this month.

Ed’s Easy Diner CEO Andrew Guy said: "Dwell time at train stations is certainly increasing and with a daily footfall of 180,000 people, we’re confident the Liverpool Street Diner will be a success.”

Earlier this year SSP signed a five-year deal with healthy fast food chain Leon that will see it open restaurants at stations across the UK.

Hamish Kiernan, commercial director at Network Rail, said: “Ed’s is one of the fastest growing casual dining formats in the UK and their franchise partnership with SSP is a perfect combination to drive operating success in the more complex station environment.”
