Simon Mullins and chef Ben Tish will launch their Venice-inspired restaurant Veneta at the St James’s Market development on 24 October.
The 110-cover venue will celebrate the ‘eclectic mix of cultures and cuisines’ of the Italian city and feature a raw seafood bar and a salumi and cheese trolley.
It will be the group’s first restaurant to open for breakfast, with dishes including afried fritelle with jam, chocolate and saffron custard; and baked eggs with spinach, tomato ragu, speck and basil.
Mullins has also curated wines from Northern Italy and a range of 'rarely seen' Italian vermouths and bitters.
Veneta will join a number of exciting new openings at the St James’s development, including the UK outpost of two Michelin-starred New York restaurant Aquavit.
A second UK Duck & Waffle is reportedly opening in the area after the success of its first site, which launched on the 40th floor of Heron Tower in Bishopsgate in 2012.
Salt Yard Group opened its eponymous first site in 2005, and has since launched tapas restaurants Dehesa, Opera Tavern and Ember Yard across London.
