The Lowry Hotel up for sale

Property firm CBRE is searching for a buyer for the 165-room luxury venue, which first opened in 2001.
The hotel is located on the site of the former print works where The Dandy and Beano comics were created, and was Manchester’s first five-star hotel.
Former owners Rocco Forte Hotels sold the property to Westmont and American firm Mount Kellett Capital Management in 2014 for an estimated £40m.
The hotel has since undergone a major renovation including the installation of Smart TV’s and new curtains and carpets throughout the bedrooms and public spaces.
The Lowry said in a statement: “CBRE has been instructed as Sole Selling Agent to secure a purchaser for The Lowry Hotel Manchester on behalf of the owners, an affiliate of Westmont Hospitality Group.
“The 165 bedroom, iconic five-star Manchester Hotel has undergone an extensive rebranding since its acquisition in August 2014. The hotel continues to outperform the market after a record year in 2016.”
The Lowry is one of just 14 UK hotels to be part of the Leading Hotels of the World consortium.
