Bar and restaurant operator Bitters n' Twisted is to open its fourth site under its Bodega Cantina brand in Derby due to its ongoing success in other locations.

The South American-themed cocktail bar and restaurant first opened in Birmingham six years ago and was followed by openings in Worcester in 2014 and Leicester last year.

The new site at Sadler Gate in Derby will open in March following an investment of £150,000. Interiors will feature iconic South American imagery while the menu will feature a range of South American and South American-inspired dishes, such as tacos, burritos and nachos and cocktails

Bitters n' Twisted Venues founder Matt Scriven said: "Bodega has been such a hit with our customers across three cities in the Midlands that we know the demand is there for genuine and fresh South American food in playful and quirky surroundings.

“We are proudly independent and whilst we have Bodega venues elsewhere, our ethos is all about making it right for the city. We’re really excited to be opening our first restaurant in Derby; the city, and Sadler Gate in particular, has an exciting and emerging food scene and we hope to be a popular addition.”

Bodega Cantina Derby will be Bitters n' Twisted's 11th site opening. Alongside the three other Bodega Cantinas, its sites include Buffalo & Rye, Island Bar, The Jekyll & Hyde, The Rose Vila Tavern, Marmalade and The Victoria in Birmingham and The New Inn in Harbourne.
