Russell Norman and Richard Beatty to open Spuntino in Bristol

It is the latest opening to join the Cargo 2 shipping container development, alongside Josh Eggleton’s second Salt & Malt site.
Spuntino, which means ‘snack’ in Italian, will serve Italian-inspired New York comfort food such as truffle egg toast; lobster mac and cheese; and a peanut butter ice cream sandwich.
The restaurant will seat 53-covers spread across the shipping container and an outdoor terrace, which will be used for barbecues in the summer.
“We feel very fortunate to be part of the Cargo development and even though it has taken us six years to find the right location for our second Spuntino, we are so happy that it’s going to be here in Bristol,” says Norman.
The opening follows the launch of the first Spuntino in Soho in 2011.
Norman and Beatty also run nine restaurants under the venetian-inspired Polpo brand.
