French chef Stéphane Reynaud is to launch his first London restaurant at the Boundary Hotel in Shoreditch later this year.

Tratra will open in April in the space formerly occupied by the Boundary restaurant in the hotel’s basement.

It will be the third restaurant from Reynaud, and his first outside Paris. He previously owned and cooked at Villa9Trois in Montreuil.

While details of the menu are yet to be announced, Reynaud’s cooking is largely inspired by recipes from the Ardeche region in south-central France, where he spent his childhood.

A chef for 25 years, he grew up in a family of pig farmers and butchers and emphasises meat and charcuterie on his menus.

Tratra will be the latest restaurant to join the Prescott & Conran group, which owns the Boundary Hotel.

The company – founded by Peter Prescott and Sir Terence Conran – is also behind Les Deux Salons and Parabola at the Design Museum.
