The 267-room, 13-storey hotel will also feature a rooftop bar with views of the Gherkin, The Shard and Tower Bridge when it launches in April.
Shikumen opened its debut site at the Dorsett Shepherd’s Bush hotel to rave reviews in 2014, and the restaurant was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2015.
It has since expanded to further sites in Ealing and at Finchley Road’s O2 shopping centre.
Late-night restaurant group VQ currently operates three London restaurants, but the company’s founder Simon Prideaux told BigHospitality last year that he was hoping to grow the brand to ten sites by 2019.
The Aldgate hotel will be the second London opening from Asian hotel group Dorsett Hospitality International, which has identified London as a ‘key destination’ for further expansion.
Shikumen is managed by investors JRC Group, which also runs the JRC Global Buffets chain across the UK.
