The Switch front-of-house 2017
Applications are now open for The Switch, the nationwide project that sees front-of-house staff swap places of work for up to a week.

The scheme is being headed up by Emma Underwood, general manager of Where The Light Gets In and one third of The TMRW Project, which aims to support the next generation of hospitality talent.

The initiative will pair restaurants of different size, location and atmosphere together to host a ‘switch’ from 9 October.

Waiters, managers, bartenders and sommeliers will have a chance to learn from their peers, make industry contacts and experience different ways of working.

The Switch ran for the first time in 2016 and harnessed support from restaurants including Tredwells, Noble Rot, Pidgin, Duck & Waffle and The Man Behind The Curtain.

“The Switch provided a much needed opportunity for the sharing of skills, values, inspiration and education,” says Tredwells chef patron Chantelle Nicholson.

“Chefs get the great opportunities to learn from stages, so naturally, it makes perfect sense to utilise this same format and it needs to happen more often.”

Applications are now open on the TMRW Project’s website, for more information click here.

The TMRW Project is run in collaboration between Underwood, Duck & Waffle chef director Dan Doherty and food writer Anna Sulan Masing, and also spearheads the Chefs of Tomorrow scheme and Industry Talks events.
