Richard Caring is set to further strengthen his presence in central London, after securing another restaurant site in Marylebone.

The serial sector investor and backer of Caprice Holdings, Bill’s and The Ivy Collection, is understood to have bought the site currently housing La Tasca on James Street.

With an Ivy Café already in close proximity it is thought he may have secured the site for his new Harry’s Bar Restaurant concept.

BigHospitality’s sister website MCA revealed last month that Caring was currently seeking a site to test out an upmarket Italian restaurant version of Harry’s Bar which, if successful, he will look to replicate elsewhere. He has recently set up a new company – Harry’s Bar Restaurants - to oversee the new project.

It is thought that Caring is also exploring options for further spin-off concepts from his Caprice Holdings stable.

The company is set to take on the lease of the former Grain Store restaurant in Granary Square in King’s Cross for an as-yet-unnamed project. There is speculation that Caring could be looking at the site for a new restaurant variant of his Harry’s Bar members club on Mayfair’s South Audley Street or for another opening under The Ivy Collection umbrella.

Caring has also secured the former Café Rouge in Knightsbridge for what could become a ‘Harry’s Dolci’ restaurant.

Caprice Holdings has also fuelled speculation that it is looking for a spin-off of for its successful Sexy Fish restaurant, also in Mayfair, having trademarked the name Crazy Fish.
