The Restaurant Show unveils impressive line-up for 2017

Running from 2-4 October, The Restaurant Show 2017 will feature inspiring discussions and exciting culinary battles alongside over 450 exhibitors.

Organised by BigHospitality publisher William Reed Business Media, the annual trade show​ is held at London Olympia and will run alongside The Bar & Pub Show, Conscious Hospitality Show and Catering Equipment Expo.

The October issue of Restaurant magazine will be available at the show and will have within it a 64-page guide to help visitors plan their time and navigate the show.

Some of the country’s most high profile chefs and restaurateurs will be in attendance, including the Sportsman chef patron Stephen Harris and Core chef patron Clare Smyth. Harris will be cooking classic British dishes from his new book while Smith will be talking about her newly-opened and oversubscribed Notting Hill restaurant.

Other chefs appearing on the show’s The Stage include Daniel Galmiche, Picture Restaurant’s Alan Christie and Patricia Michelson, the founder and director of celebrated wholesale and restaurant business La Fromagerie.

The Stage will also play host to a number of business critical seminars and discussions. Highlights include a skills and recruitment-focused debate hosted by HIT Training managing director Jill Whitaker; a talk from The Clink chief executive Chris Moore on how his charity helps prisoners transform their lives; and a seminar on industry disrupters from Simon Stenning, the executive director of strategic research consultancy MCA.

The show will identify innovative, must-have products via its The Great New Idea competition. Suppliers will put their best products forward to be judged by show attendees and an expert panel, with the winner of The Great New Idea 2017 title announced on 3 October.

For those looking to wet their whistle, Hospitality Uncorked is billed as a guide to the latest drinks innovations, with expert tastings, tutorials and masterclasses. Master of Wine, Peter McCombie will be on hand to guide visitors through recession-proofing their wine list and Neil Phillips, aka The Wine Tipster, will be exploring why Californian wine and advising on wine and food matching options. Meanwhile, the IWC Discovery Tasting area will showcasing 700 wines and sake never seen before in the UK.

The Show will also feature one of the UK’s most respected cooking competitions, The National Chef of the Year. The crème de la crème of the chef community​ will battle it out in a tense live final with the results announced at a special, invitation only ceremony.
