The chef, who was a regular on the BBC’s Ready Steady Cook, closed the business in August after 25 years of trading.
The restaurant was recommended in the Michelin Guide, but Tobin told GetSurrey that it had struggled with a ‘perfect storm’ of rising costs and increased competition in the area.
“In Reigate, demand for fine dining has fallen dramatically in the current economic climate at a time when home delivery services have meant that chains and delivery services have persuaded people to stay at home rather than visit quality restaurants,” he said.
“This is sad news for everyone in the catering world but a harsh reality the restaurant has had to face head on.”
Christie & Co is marketing the 2,700 sq ft site with all the fixtures and fittings available for purchase.
Offers are being invited on new lease ending in 2036.
