Hawksmoor's sister restaurant goes vegan for November

Hawksmoor might be known for its meat-centric menus, but its sister restaurant brand Foxlow is ‘going vegan’ for the whole of November.

The restaurant group is launching vegan lunch and dinner menus across its Foxlow sites on 1 November as part of World Vegan Month.

Hawksmoor Group is well known for its meat dishes and its carnivorous clientele, but owners Will Beckett and Huw Gott say the new menu direction is a reflection of how its customers eat on a regular basis.

The new vegan dishes, priced between £5-9.50, will be available after World Vegan Month finishes.

Options will comprise dishes such as carrot hummus with carrot top pesto and chilli; roast acorn squash pie with vegan gravy; spice roasted cauliflower with chickpeas, wilted spinach and aubergine sauce; and an aubergine steak with mushrooms, onions and vegan béarnaise.

“We always wanted it to be really flexible, so you could come and eat really healthily if you want, or come and indulge, but you’d always feel comfortable with where your food came from and what it’s doing for you” says co-founder Gott.

The restaurant is also adding a selection of non-vegan dishes to its menu, including a breakfast dish of salmon, leek and potato cakes; and porridge with honey, dates, cinnamon, syrup, banana and apple.

Foxlow operates sites in Balham, Clerkenwell, Chiswick and Soho.
