A television company is seeking pastry chefs to compete in the next series of its professional Great British Bake Off spin-off.

Love Productions is looking for teams of two from any area of the catering industry to take part, though the team captain must be head chef level or higher.

Formerly Crème de la Crème, the show has been renamed Bake Off: The Professionals after following its sister show to Channel 4.

The programme aired on the BBC for two series from 2016, with Benoit Blin, chef patissier at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, and Cherish Finden, former executive pastry chef at The Langham London on the judging panel.

Tom Kerridge hosted the show in 2016, but he was replaced by Angus Deaton after the first series.

It is not yet confirmed whether same line-up will make the jump to Channel 4, though Blin shared the call for entries on his Twiter account.

Speaking to BigHospitality last year, Blin said he hoped the show would inspire a new generation of pastry chefs.

Last series was won by a trio of chefs from RAF Oldham following an eight-hour challenge where they assembled a military-themed showpiece and individual desserts.
