The restaurant, located in Brixton Market, closes today (15 November) and will reopen just over a week later having received a makeover that will bring it in line with the rest of the brand’s restaurants.
It will serve the full MEATliquor menu, although MEATliquor co-founder and MD Scott Collins says new dishes are likely to be added in the new year.
The restaurant will undergo “a nip and tuck, some titillation”, according to Collins, using artwork on the walls and ceiling from I Love Dust and with new grills being installed.
“We are constantly updating our venues and offering to make sure they never get tired, and now it’s CHICKENliquor’s turn,” says Collins. “The venue will be given a loving face lift. Once reopened, it will be a fully functioning MEATliquor.”
This is not the first time the chicken-focused site has been given a rebrand and a new image. The site was initially fried chicken concept Wishbone, which the company launched with the concept’s co-founder William Leigh in November 2012. In April 2014 Meatailer bought the site and a few months later rebranded it as CHICKENliquor.
