Australian chef Brett Redman is to launch a new restaurant at the upcoming Principal London hotel next year.

The chef, who won a Michelin Bib Gourmand for Elliot’s cafe in Borough Market, is teaming up with former stylist Margaret Crow for the project, two years after the duo launched The Richmond restaurant and oyster bar in London.

The Neptune is billed as being a 'neighbourhood' restaurant within the hotel on Bloomsbury’s Russel Square.

Full menu details are yet to be confirmed, but it’s understood the team are hoping to create an informal ‘Bloomsbury Salon’ for the 21st century.

Redman also opened Japanese yakitori skewer restaurant Jidori in Hackney in 2015, which is recommended in the Michelin Guide alongside The Richmond.

Principal Hotel Company, which is part of the Starwood group, says it is planning to create a hub for ‘Londoners who have a passion for great food’.

Other openings at the 334-room hotel will include coffee house Burr & Co and cocktail bar Fitz’s.

The Principal London is set to launch in early 2018.
