The restaurant, which specialises in Japanese temaki and Brazilian caipirinhas, has signed a 20-year lease at the One Tower Bridge development, due to open in mid-2018.
It will join an impressive line-up of restaurants at the site, including Rosa’s Thai, Gunpowder Market Market, The Ivy Collection and By Chloe.
Temakinho was founded in 2012 in Milan and made its UK debut last year on Soho’s Old Compton Street.
Specialising in sushi rolls, seafood and capirinhas, the chain now operates six restaurants in Italy and one in Ibiza.
The menu comprises the likes of avocado and kataife pastry rolls with scallops and passion fruit sauce.
The restaurant will serve a selection of fusion-inspired sushi rolls, including breaded salmon, banana and cream cheese; seared tuna, papaya, avocado with graviola and mint sauce; and salmon and avocado with cream cheese and almonds.
The group is looking for further international expansion. The One Tower Bridge site is “the first in a number of sites the restaurant is looking at in the city,” according to Sammy Weinbaum, head of acquisitions at CDG Leisure, which acted on the deal.
