Applications are now being sought for the next series of Masterchef: The Professionals, judged by Marcus Wareing, Monica Galetti and Gregg Wallace.

UK chefs aged 20 or above on 25 April 2018 that have worked for at least two years as a chef in a professional kitchen or has the necessary NVQ qualifications, can now apply to appear in the eleventh series of the BBC show at www.masterchef.com.

Won previously by Gary Maclean, who is now Scotland’s ‘national chef’, Masterchef: The Professionals offers chefs a chance to enter some of the most elite kitchens in the world.

The 2017 winner was Craig Johnston, a sous chef at Michelin-starred Royal Oak Paley Street restaurant near Maidenhead.

Entrants are required to be focused, driven by their culinary ambition, and able to cook to a high level.

“Long established as one of the top professional cooking competitions in the country, we are now returning for our 11th series and once again looking for chefs with the talent and ambition to make it to the top of their industry,” says a statement from the show’s producers.

“If you have the culinary skills to battle against the best and the desire to cook at the highest level, this is the only competition to be part of.”
