Opening this spring, Mr Fogg’s House of Botanicals will open on the former site of Dickie Fitz, which closed abruptly on 30 June. The site was formerly occupied by Newman Street Tavern.
The Mr Fogg concept, which launched in 2013, is themed around the explorer Phileas Fogg. The venue portfolio includes a Mayfair ‘residence’; a Covent Garden tavern; and a Covent Garden gin parlour.
The new opening is billed as a “cocktail bar for the adventurous”.
It will be serving cocktails inspired by “all manner of botanics Mr. Fogg discovered on his travels,” according to the company.
The brand’s other venues serve a variety of menus including a ‘tipsy tea’ menu at the Mayfair residence, a traditional a la carte menu at the tavern, and an ‘evening edibles’ selection of bar snacks at the gin parlour.
According to BigHospitality’s sister publication MCA, the Inception Group has also taken on the former Bedford & Strand property in Bedford Street, off London’s Strand, which will open as a Mr Fogg’s in the autumn.
The Inception Group also operates Bunga, Bunga pizzerias and a selection of late-night venues and bars.
