The Savoy owner buys restaurant reservation service ResDiary

ResDiary restaurant reservation service sold to AccorHotels
The owner of The Savoy hotel in London has bought restaurant reservation service ResDiary for an undisclosed sum.

French hospitality giant AccorHotels, which operates sites in over 100 countries, says it will help the table booking group further expand worldwide.  

ResDiary was founded in Glasgow in 2004 and is now active in 60 countries, seating 166m diners a year in over 8,600 sites.

Its customers include over 35 Michelin-starred restaurants, chains such as TGI Friday’s and Turtle Bay, and the House of Commons’ dining room in London.

“Our ambition is to support ResDiary in its global expansion, consolidating its scale, and benefitting from its expertise to provide multiple attractive offers to our guests,” says Sébastien Bazin, chairman and CEO at AccorHotels.

“This acquisition completes recent investments of AccorHotels in the food and beverage industry. It fully supports the group’s ambition to increase touchpoints with a fast-growing customer base.”

AccorHotels’ portfolio includes The Plaza in New York, which it acquired after buying its parent company FRHI for £1.9bn​ in 2016, and the budget and mid-range Mecure and ibis properties.
