Mark Wahlberg and his brothers to bring their burger chain to the UK
A burger chain owned by actor Mark Wahlberg and his brothers Paul and Donnie is set to make its UK debut in September having secured a site in Covent Garden.

Two-storey Wahlburgers will open at 8-9 James Street, serving chef and co-owner Paul Wahlberg’s menu of burgers and homemade condiments.

Founded in 2011 by Paul, the burger chain now comprises 22 restaurants across the US, and has its own reality TV show, Wahlburgers.

Its menu includes burgers made from a blend of brisket, short rib and chuck steak, with various toppings such as blue cheese; avocado spread; caramelized onions; and mushrooms.

Other menu items include Portobello mushroom sandwiches; crispy haddock sandwiches; macaroni salad; macaroni and cheese; and a selection of made-to-order salad bowls.

Side dishes include French fries; tater tots; and onion rings.

The launch of the London restaurant will feature an appearance from co-owner Mark, who is “delighted” to be bringing the burger chain to the UK.

“We have the best possible location,” says the actor. “It is one of the most visited areas in all of the world - Covent Garden.”

The property was secured by hospitality property agency Restaurant Property.

Covent Garden is proving popular with US restaurants, with vegan restaurant By Chloe, Shake Shack and Balthazar all choosing the area to open UK outposts.
