Restaurateur Sam Harrison - who owned Sam’s Brasserie in Chiswick and Harrison’s in Balham, until both sites closed in 2015 - is making a return to the restaurant fold early next year.

Harrison will open restaurant and bar Sam’s Riverside in London’s Hammersmith as part of the major rejuvenation project of Riverside Studios.

Launching in February 2019, the modern British brasserie-style restaurant will afford views of Hammersmith Bridge and seat 90 people in the main dining room as well as have a private dining room for up to 16 people. There will also be an additional 40 spaces outdoors.

“Sam’s Brasserie was a very important part of my life for 10 years, and I made many friends among the local clientele,” says Harrison.

“I was eager to return, so when the opportunity arose to collaborate with Riverside Studios on the amazing new restaurant space, I was thrilled.”

The new restaurant will be designed by company Design LSM and have “an informal but glamorous” feel.

Harrison opened Sam’s Brasserie in Chiswick, west London, in 2005, and then Harrison’s in Balham, south London, in 2007. Both restaurants were sold to Hawksmoor Group in 2015 and converted into its Foxlow brand.

Riverside Studios is an arts, media and entertainment complex that has been in Hammersmith since 1933 and is currently undergoing a total redevelopment. Expected to be completed by the end of this year, the new development will comprise three large theatre/studio spaces and a 200-seat cinema and screening room.
