La Mia Mamma will see regional Italian food showcased by rotating Italian home cooks
New restaurant concept La Mia Mamma will see a roster of Italian home cooks take the reins at its Chelsea kitchen for three months at a time, showcasing regional Italian cuisine.

The brainchild of Italian founders Peppe Corsaro, Corrado Mozzillo and Luca Maggiora, 65-cover La Mia Mamma will launch later this month (after a three-month delay) at 257 Kings Road.

The site has previously housed Italian restaurant Mozzarella & More as well as wine bar Gastrovino.

Each guest chef will be overseen by executive chef Marco Giugliano, previously of Mayfair restaurants Quattro Passi and Il Baretto, who will be serving an a la carte menu and dishes from a robata grill alongside each chef’s offering.

The first chef in residence, Sicilian “mamma” Lidia Romeo, will serve cuisine from Sicily including arancini and pasta alla norma, alongside Italian-inspired cocktails and Italian wines.

The guest “mammas” will hold masterclasses and demonstrations to educate guests on the “unique tastes, flavours and the bounty of fresh, seasonal produce that is known to vary wildly from region to region.”

The restaurant will be open from 11.30 until late, and is inviting applications from Italian “mamma” home cooks who are interested in taking over the kitchens for one of the three-month stints.
