The news follows a similar move by CompareTheMarket, which recently announced it was partnering with Tastecard.
The company is offering annual Dine memberships, which usually cost £49.99, to all customers that purchase car, home, bike, van or pet insurance through the its website.
Dine membership gives customers access to ‘two for one’ deals and other discounts off restaurant bills at the major chains.
GoCompare says that restaurants are expected to benefit from increased footfall from customers who find the app through the price comparison website.
The move is reminiscent of CompareTheMarket’s Meerkat Meals scheme, launched last week, whereby restaurants using the CompareTheMarket website to by insurance or switch energy providers will receive access to a reward scheme powered by dining platform, Tastecard.
The world of dining clubs is a competitive market. The Dining Club Group, which operates Tastecard, also operates two other large discount dining schemes, so it is unsurprising that Dine was quick to mirror the initiative of pairing with a price comparison website to increase its reach.
