Head chef Shaun Searley announced the plan on Instagram earlier today and is on the hunt for an “ambitious” chef to work there.
Earlier this year the historic Farringdon Road restaurant extended its retail offering and took over the shop next door to create a new café.
The site was previously home to Noble Fine Liquor, the parent company of Clapton wine bar P Franco.
Reopened in 2012 The Quality Chop House has existed as a restaurant on Farringdon Road since 1869. It is part of Woodhead group, which also runs Fitzrovia restaurants Clipstone and Michelin-starred Portland.
It offers modern dishes based around premium British ingredients, and features an in-house butcher.
