The World's 50 Rest Restaurants 2018 announces the 51-100 list
The World’s 50 Best Restaurants has announced the 2018 list of restaurants ranked from 51 to 100 ahead of its annual awards event, which takes place on Tuesday 19th June at Palacio Euskalduna in Bilbao, Spain.

St. John has climbed seven places, now sitting at 84. A stalwart of London’s dining scene, the nose-to-tail restaurant graced the very first World’s 50 Best list at 49 place in 2002

Another UK climber is Mikael Jonsson’s Hedone in Chiswick, which has jumped 16 places since last year and now sits at number 82 on the list.

Lyle’s has left the 51-100 list, and a new arrival at number 74 is Heston Blumenthal’s Bray restaurant The Fat Duck, which topped the list in 2005.

Sühring in Bangkok, Thailand, is the highest new entry on the list at number 54, following on from its success at the 2018 Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants awards in March, where it ranked at number four.

Tokyo’s Florilège, which sat at 99 on the list last year, is now celebrating its ascent to number 59 in the world ranking. Other notable climbers include Selfie in Moscow, Russia, which rises 18 places to No.70 and Benu in San Francisco, USA, which is up 14 spots to number 53.

The list is determined by a voting Academy comprising over 1,000 international restaurant industry experts and is independently adjudicated by Deloitte.

“The global spread is testament to the geographic diversity of culinary excellence celebrated on this extended list and at our annual awards,” says William Drew, Group Editor of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants

“We are particularly thrilled that so many of the chefs and restaurateurs from the 51-100 list will be joining us in person at The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards in Bilbao.”
