Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse will join Barrafina at the upcoming Coal Drop’s Yard development in London’s King’s Cross this October.
The products are manufactured in Paris by the chef’s “trusted artisan chocolate maker Nicolas Berger” and range from chocolate bars to single-origin and flavoured ganache, and pralines “a’ l’ancienne”.
Ducasse, who acts as “artistic director” of the stores, opened his first chocolate shop in Paris in 2013 followed by an outpost in Tokyo in March 2018.
The London site will be joined at the Coal Drop’s Yard scheme by high-end retailers such as Paul Smith and a trio of new restaurant and bar openings from the Hart Brothers group – including its biggest Barrafina yet.
Designer Tom Dixon is also understood to be partnering with Palomar chef Assaf Granit for a new restaurant in the area.
Ducasse has won 21 Michelin stars throughout his career, second only to his fellow Frenchman Joël Robuchon’s 28.
Ducasse's empire today includes 28 restaurants across seven countries, including three-starred Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester in London.
