Chef Danny Parker to leave House of Tides
House of Tides head chef Danny Parker has announced he is to leave the restaurant.

Parker joined the Newcastle site ahead of its opening in 2014, working under chef-patron Kenny Atkinson.

He was part of the team that saw House of Tides win a Michelin star in 2015 and rank 30th in the Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards top 100 list this year.

Parker, who is yet to announce his next move, wrote on Twitter that his decision was influenced by the recent birth of his daughter Pearl.

“After 4 ½ years of service at House of Tides, it is with a heavy heart that I must say it is time for me to move on to pastures new,” he wrote.

“This has been a massive decision for me both personally and professionally. I would like to thank Kenny and Abbie for their support and guidance, they have helped me become the chef I am today.

“Having recently become a Daddy to my gorgeous daughter Pearl, I feel now is the right time for me to leave. Knowing the restaurant will continue to blossom and flourish fills me with a huge amount of pride!

“My next move will be announced in the near future but for now, I will continue to push forward at House of Tides trying to make it better and better every single day.”

Parker was a finalist on MasterChef: The Professionals in 2014 and will represent the North East on this year’s Great British Menu.
