The company plans to open 500 new sites, of which only 250 will be in the Philippines, with one believed to be launching in Earls Court in October. The launch will follow recent openings in Milan, Toronto and Macau.
Jollibee aims to have an equal contribution in sales from its local and international outlets by 2023.
Besides its signature burgers, Jollibee offers a Chickenjoy fried chicken menu alongside noodle meals and coffee.
Attending the opening of Jollibee’s one thousandth store in Taguig late last year, British ambassador to the Philippines Daniel Pruce tweeted that it was “great news” that the chain will be coming to the UK.
In a further interview for TV programme The Boss on ANC, the ambassador described Jollibee-owned Chickenjoy as “iconic”, and said he could see “no reason” why it would not succeed in Britain.
The Jollibee group operates 2,700 outlets across the Philippines, making it the largest fast food group in the country. It currently operates restaurants in China and south-east Asia.
