Former Zuma executive sushi chef to launch pop-up at The Berkeley
Master sushi chef Endo Kazutoshi will launch a month-long pop up at The Berkeley in Knightsbridge this month.

The former executive sushi chef for the Zuma restaurant group will launch the omakase pop-up in a specially designed space at the Knightsbridge hotel on 20 July.

The pop up, the result of a partnership between Kazutoshi and Robin Leigh’s Lord Simon Restaurants, precedes the launch of Kazutoshi’s own eponymous restaurant, further details of which still remain unknown.

The pop-up will comprise an eight-cover sushi bar at which guests will be served cocktails created by The Berkeley’s Blue Bar mixologists.

Guests will then be served a 15-course bespoke omakase (chef’s choice) menu, and will have the opportunity to discuss the preparation of the dishes with Kazutoshi himself.

Dishes will include the likes of Scottish scallop oshinogi; lemon sole usuzukuri; and wagyu beef agemono. An additional sake and wine pairing will also be available on top of the £150 omakase menu.

“Having worked with some of the world’s top chefs, the hotel’s innovative style mirrors the creativity I bring to my dishes,” says Kazutoshi

“I am excited to be able to share my culinary heritage with a new audience, using some of the amazing produce from around the UK to complement my specialist Sushi style.”

Robin Leigh, former international director for Nobu, and Kazutoshi recently partnered to create the sushi menu for Japanese diner Ichibuns on Wardour Street.
