She joins after a year holding the same role at fellow D&D venue Skylon, within the Royal Festival Hotel.
A protégé of Gordon Ramsay, Woodward worked for the Ramsay group for nine years. She started as a junior sous chef at Boxwood Café before progressing to Gordon Ramsay Plane Food and York & Albany.
She became the first female head chef in the Savoy Grill’s nearly 130-year history in 2015, leading the kitchen at the famous Strand hotel.
At 100 Wardour Street the chef intends to gradually introduce new dishes to the menus at the restaurant, bar and club over the next few months.
New items on the lounge menu include a Full English flatbread with baked beans and pea shoots; warm waffle with summer fruits and Chantilly cream; and roasted local Carrots and freekeh, pomegranate molasses, green onions, pistachios and sunflower seeds.
Woodward says she intends to give classic dishes a “modern, creative twist”, with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options.
The Cheshire-born chef also appeared on Great British Menu in 2016, representing the North West.
